...on saving face and military leadership...

Thankfully, my uncle was released earlier today, around 2 in the morning... This was at his request to be moved to DLSU-Greenhills (School spirit hinders me from praising them all out, but I am grateful to the La Salle community.. They have always been there for my uncle even before these events, and not to mention an uncle from the other side of the family gives me free tickets for the games.. Animo!) to be with some religious leaders who are his friends, and with his family too... He was allowed to speak on the condition that he will not say anything that would implicate the palace.. So he speaks against Abalos, who is truly enough, the only guy who is making more than anyone after the first gentle(?)man... He also says, truly enough, that he never sought help from the PNP for security, which is contrary to what Razon says... Razon claims, at first, that my uncle wrote a request for security, which my uncle claimed that he was forced to do (and who do you think I would believe?)... Then Razon says later(in the sense that it was after he said his first claim, but actually, it was earlier today) that it was one of his siblings who made the request, which again is a blatant lie, since all his siblings were waiting for him at the airport... Upon his statement that he was "forced" to admit that he sought security, palace spokesperson Golez spoke to Umagang Kay Ganda, saying that he was "surprised at all the lies that Lozada was saying"... Bullshit.. Palace is making a defense on what happened... By saying that the Palace has no knowledge of my uncle's supposed abduction, does that mean that the PNP is acting on their own? It could be a possibility, however I know for a fact that Gen Razon is not a family acquaintance, and that dispels the chance of us or even my uncle running directly to him for assitance... The PNP's commander-in-chief is none other than the president herself... Razon is stressing "a request", and by the look on my uncle's face, that is an all-out lie... The only logical reason for their actions is that it was an order from their chief, and to try to save face, Golez starts babbling defense for the palace by saying whatever the hell they were doing during the moments my uncle was missing...

It's all bullshit... I never experienced martial law... But with media manipulation(in form of confiscation of materials, as in Makati incident, and various explanations to the people on different events to wash the hands of the palace for its dirty work), govenrment control over the military and only recently the house of "representatives", I'm starting to think that we're headed toward that direction, if we are not yet in it... Journalists have been killed over the past few years under this administration, people have been bribed, and candidates who seemingly don't deserve to win actually have positions now.. This government is masquarading as a democratic state, but it seems we are in under a president who has a private army in the military and the police, and a House representing her coming from different places in the country... Marcos had cronies and was the only powerful man in the country back then... Today, no one is above GMA, and the powerful people only have as much power a president has in a parliamentary state...

Yes, out of what, already 6 years since assuming office, 2 years more may be too short a time to make things worse... Maybe that's why coup attempts continually fail due to lack of support... people don't want to support the cause because "our economy is booming" and that she's almost through her term anyway... Yes, 2 years more, in any other case, is too short a time to make drastic change.. If it were any other case... But it's GMA we're talking about here... She's a graduate of Economics, probably had further education, served multiple positions in the government, daughter of a prolific and respected president back then... She's as cunning as can be, and I think no time is too short or too long for her... At the end of her term, she could challenge for the title "richest person in the world" if she declares all her assets... And the Arroyos will forever be stapled in the government, it would be a "family business" as evidenced right now by her two sons in the house (Dado, who I could only assume is from Pampanga, represents a place in Bicol... from north to south, just to get a position...)... Furthering her term for the remaining two years may spell more trouble for the country than we have now... I am also aware that there is no strong opposition, and no true leader who could assume the position should she be taken out of the palace... That is probably the biggest reason why she's still there... Hopefully, opposition leaders can bring their egos down for a moment and decide on a particular, able leader so that the spoiled dwarf that is the president and his rich boar of a husband can go back to throwing tantrums in their humble home in the province (wow, humble and the president in the same sentence)...

If people really want change, let's kill all the representatives at the house, elect to change the military heads, and trust that single person who would be leader of the country, help him instead of critiquing him, put him around people who are not his party-mates or close allies, and only then may we see change... Change does not happen if you replace one person... Change must involve all the people who are there now...

  4. he's the same uncle who lives in the same village as you...

he's also the same uncle whose name I followed (logically, i can't be the 3rd because he is my uncle... so to continue the legacy of my grandfather's name through my father, they named me Rudolf instead of Rodolfo)...

Seriously, im praying for your uncle so he sticks with the truth, (sana lang totoo sasabihin nya at pawang katotohanan lang).. It takes tons of courage and faith to be patriotic for this country.. "and sometimes its worth taking a risk... (sigh)... for this country" I love his lines.. You can see his sincerity.. Sana lahat ng Pinoy ganun, may paninindigan para sa pagbabago..
