...10-3...

that was the marginal stat that mattered..

chris tiu vs. jayvee casio

ryan buenafe vs. joshua webb

green vs. blue

ateneo vs. la salle

the most anticipated matchup(dare i say) in the country did not disappoint: exciting game, lively crowd (upper box a at araneta price + free parking! woohoo!), energetic players, amazing play...it was all you could ask for...

..and the refs had to spoil the fun...

yeah, ateneo took care of their charities and dlsu didn`t, but man, to call at LEAST 11 fouls PER QUARTER, it's freakin ridiculous... the refs WON'T LET ANYONE TOUCH CHRIS TIU!!! i know the guy's good looking [and near perfection, God, i hate him...], but to sacrifice the game for his welfare, shit...

ok, ok, in giving what is due, i think ateneo played a heck of a game... baclao was his usual defensive self, salamat was unstoppable and slashed at will, nkomakelam (uh, jove na lang) is so fit he dominated every big man la salle had (big man = walsham, who is now a pig... oh, did i mention he looked like ken bono now?), and buenafe lived up to the hype...

for la salle, they had casio hitting early threes but wasn't clicking when he was needed, rico shot too many outside jumpers, energy guy joshua webb did what he can to contribute, mangahas was the only consistent free throw shooter (although he was also the one who shot the airball at the line), rivera showed flashes of brilliance and unmatched speed but still has to learn to sink those relatively easy buckets, and malabes looked like he was taking drugs or something...

what can i say but:

First game lang yan....

atsaka Go Uste.... hehe... Ateneo vs La Salle, green ako, pero Tigers vs. Archers, i still believe in the tigers... dare i say again, back when they were nobodys without a championship, there we were, philo of batch 07, skipping the gen ad section to sit at upper b on a thursday at araneta, rooting for a team seemingly forgotten by the school, riding on non-airconditioned buses (hanggang ngayon pa rin ata), and enjoying anonymity... until that incredible cinderella run by coach pido... that has not changed...

wala lang... feeling ko lang i needed to defend myself on my passion for la salle... naka "Go La Salle" shirt kasi ako nun naglalakad ako sa uste last sunday, mei kumag na sumigaw ng "go uste!"...

  7. @kali: pakshet ka pa rin... buti na lang nastall si manny, antagal bago nagstart nun game... naramdaman nya siguro wla pa ko... hehe... go uste thursday... sa mga nakakabasa at interesado, 150 ringside, 100 upper sa ultra, kaso either way, wlang reservations, 1st come 1st served..

@dipa: dirk? siguro nga.. kaso di kaya nya naisip na ganun pinaggagagawa ni luanzon sa height nya dati at ngayon balik PBL xa?? ewan... malamang makakapaglaro sa PBA yan kun padraft man xa.. la sallista eh...

    @imon: punyetang free throws...

NU? gaganda na ata... wait and SY... haha... SM mogul i think has biggest share na ng NU and is looking to invest to improve the school in all aspects... AdU and NU ang feeling ko cheap schools sa UAAP eh, with FEU having infrastructure improvements/construction at every inch of their campus already... AdU, for it's part, have the wittiest campaign for getting students, "ADdyoU" or something like that, and i've seen their campus, it's not half bad.. now with NU seemingly on the direction of being improved, is it safe to say that UAAP is "more prestegious" talaga than NCAA?? wala lang... hehe...
