...Rockin Galera, the Blog...

Jan 4, 2009:

<message alert tone>
Kuya Ags: Free ba kayo sa March? Galera!

Ok. That may not have been the exact date and text. But it was around that time, at just about the same tune.

I said it was too early to invite people, but as it turned out, it was just about right, as plans change, what with all the media people as friends, media people who may have all the perks in the world, but seemingly don't hold their own time.

What started out with so many people, filtered down to 12, was 8 by the night, and 6 when it all happened. Though not everyone could come, it was enjoyable nonetheless.
==========================================================

Prelude to Galera

The night before, it seemed we all had our drinking sessions (except for Ate Puch?): Khenne was at Cable Car, Che and friends went from Masa's to Cable Car, Dipa had QT with Kring and a session with Kuya Ags, and I had my own with classmates at Brew, in Timog.

But before the trip even began, there was already a problem: we don't have a camera. So instead of blowing the TFG (Timog Friday Gimik) off, I decided to just go, as it's the best way to get my dad's camera. When everything was all good, the second problem came about: my dad left the camera charger at home, and he's using the camera as we were texting. But after agreeing that we can limit our camera time, and that the extra battery still had full charge, we met, and I got the camera. Unfortnately, I lost my phone.

Anyway, considering alcohol in all our veins, you could only imagine how exciting and loud we were in the bus.

Daybreak: Setting Up for Activities

After the bus trip that seemed like 2 minutes, we were at the Batangas Port, nearing daybreak. And as the sun came up, I gave Che the camera, so that she could enjoy her first boat  trip. Unfortunately, we didn't catch dolphins on cam.

As we docked, Che was trigger-happy with the camera.

We waited for the room we were supposed to stay in, and Sheila was good enough to provide a cozy room for us. While waiting, we were cam whoring.

Trying out the light...

...'till we finally got it...

                                             ....and yes, lahat kami wasak...

So yosi people go on their breaks...

...and the basketball addict finds refuge in BTV...

====================================================================

Lunchtime and Burning

So we walked. Under the heat of the sun, with the purpose of burning our skins to show that we went to the beach..

My saliva got the better of me, and I craved for food. I wanted a hotdog sandwich at least, but they were all selling hotdogs on stick. Hamburger was the next best thing, but the store was "full" of orders, so they can't take any more. I settled for something that didn't need cooking: siopao.

                   ...But this place sucked. Siopao, siomai, and mango shake were bad...

Then we relaxed under the heat of the sun and the sea breeze..

And we also tried to play beach volleyball....

...only, no rallies ever happened. We blame the the hot sun, the burning sand, and the lack of practice.

I need a freakin workout. "Inhale" won't do me good especially if I'm not prepared.
<----------

                                      ------>
And with that beside me, we look like the number 11 written down by a kid learning to write: the other "1" is much fatter than the other.

Case in point:

                       ...to my defense, di lang ako ang nakainhale nyan... haha..

But outing pictures will not be complete without extras in the background that ruin an otherwise great shot... ndi ko alam kun si dipa ang sisisihin ko o un mga bata.

<--alon at pwet ng bata ang nakasira. Alon dahil natangay ang paa ko.

Peek-a-boo, sabi nun bata
                                ----->

                    ...dahil sa alon, we again tried to learn to walk....
                                                     ... this is honestly totally unexpected...
==================================================================

Island Hopping

We had lunch at "Meka's", but since we were saving battery, we don't have pix. Maybe Khenne does. Anyway, Che, the trigger-happy cameragirl, went on taking pictures...

On the other side of the boat...

                                              ...emote pic sa dulo ng boat...

                Stressed pa rin sa work, nasa island hopping na...
                                                                          ----------------->

                    Mga di pumoposing sa dulo ng boat, pichur dito...
                                                                      ----->

Pero pde rin makiposing..
<----

                          -------->

Snorkeling and Starfish

This, I think, will best tell you that living in the country ain't that bad, with places like this, with exotic animals under the sea. Too bad we didn't have underwater cams...

                                                    .... putting on the gear...

...floating with the vests on...

er... sana other side nya di ba?:p

<---ayan...

Buti mei remembrance kami kei Sarah...

=================================================================

The Beach..

Mei dumating na banka, umalis agad. Ang dahilan? Maalat daw tubig. Labo.

Here, we got an insistent kuya who won't leave till we buy ice drop from him. Wala naman buko. Monggo at ube lang.

Still, pinatos namin, kasi sobrang init, at walang nagbebenta ng tubig.

                                       ---->

Sunset @ Galera.

So we head back to watch the sun set, and buy board shorts... Here are the pix taken as the sun was visibly going down slowly...

Night Life

60-peso beers were a bitch, good thing there was "Mindoro Sling" to save the day... Could've enjoyed the games we were playing more, but Che had to drop by the Smart event, and I had to come with her... Rocksteddy was hilarious, really. Hopefully, more of those games and sessions come up in another outing (it's just too fun to play while intoxicated)...

No pix, it was too dark, the flash would demand more battery life, and we were thinking of using the camera more the next day...

==================================================================

...The Next Day

Well, as it turned out, this was a day for sleeping, lunch and leaving... Because of that, we had to pass on the Banana Boat experience...

But we did have a shawarma experience... One of the best shawarmas I've tasted.

Che took pictures of the place we stayed in as we were leaving...

===================================================================

Aftermath

It would've been great if more of us could come, but it was fun as it is, not too stressful, we got burned like we wanted, we got wet in the beach, we got our starfish, we had great food, we had a nice, albiet bitin session, and though the whole commercialized place looked stressful, at least I was with people who I felt most relaxed with...

Til the next rockin happens.

(normally, mei mga bold, italic, and crap.. but right now, i can't... antok na ko. but i want this to be posted already, so there... haha...)
