...Enrile, Miriam, speculation, lies, and everything: the senate hearing...

Didn't go to work yesterday to show support to my uncle... Personal knowledge, that is all that my uncle has...  Everything he said, almost word for word (even his dark side-force quips, and the permissible and forbidden zone) he gave the same accounts... If you should lie, you will be inconsistent in your stories at some point in your testimony...

Miriam Santiago attempted to get this inconsisntency by insisting my uncle's activities in the Philippine Forest Corporation... I know somewhat of some of his not so admirable acts in the PFC, and it kinda made me nervous on how my uncle was going to get himself safe and clean from the issue, but as it turned out, he admitted it... And in everything that he bared in the senate, this is the most admirable thing he did, in my mind... Sure, all the rest are essential information, but it's information that the public has to know... Look, there were Ateneo law students behind us... They were talking about something about "right to self-incrimination"... In my inferior knowledge of law, invoking this right means that whatever the witness may say in his testimony may not be used in court against him... They said that noticeably, my uncle didn't invoke that right before answering Miriam, which makes it more admirable because he is willing to face the consequences of his actions in the past while he was with the government...

I read a comment of someone in philstar.com... He claimed that "sa maliliit tayo nadadali. Yep, true that.. But then, I challenge him or anybody. Run for public office, stay there and be able to win the next election. I dare say that you will not win if you did not take anything, not even a cent... Student politics may be too small to compare to national politics, but somehow, it all works the same way... It's a thankless job... You bare your whole soul out there to work for the people the best way you see fit, but as long as people don't see you, as long as you don't put your name or face on everything you do, people will think that you did nothing... Be righteous all you want, but people won't make you a hero for being so righteous... They will think that you're doing what you're supposed to do... You become evil if you do something evil. Let's understand that: There can be no darkness if there is light... Light is always there, but once it becomes absent, you will notice darkness... So, righteousness may be a norm, so people won't praise you for that... But if you do something wrong, then people will critque you till your career dies... Please, prove me wrong.

Enrile, for his part insisted that my uncle didn't review Joey's proposal... My uncle was trying to explain but Enrile only wanted to hear what he wants.. Enrile was insisting that maybe the ZTE proposal is much better than AHI's proposal... What my uncle was trying to say to Enrile, which he actually already made clear in his earlier testimony, was the fact of BOT and Loan-based... If the project was BOT-based, the burden of everything, including completion, falls on the private company who initiated the project... If the project was loan based, the burden falls on the government, meaning using the government's own money and the burden of completion falls on the government...Regarding Enrile's insistence on why my uncle didn't just leave the project knowing it was that dirty, all i could say is that when you have the chance to do something, would you not take it? My uncle had the chance to "moderate their greed", a chance of limiting their "commissions" by proposing several scenarios, so he took that chance and didn't leave...

Argumentum Ad Bacculum (I could be wrong, it could be Hominem, please correct me) is a fallacy which attacks a person of somebody... Example, in a debate:

A: This paper is white.
B: No, this paper is brown.
A: No, this paper is white because it has no color.
B: Eh bakit ampangit mo?

It is a fallacy in the criterion of truth.. If I made a mistake, please do correct me, it was studied long before... Anyway, this fallacy was committed by no less than the palace lawyer, Atty. Apostol... His words came this way: "He is nothing more than a 'crying lady'... Sabi nya di ba probinsyanong intsik lang sya? Dapat pala i-deport na yan eh"... Putangina. He veered away from the issue and made those claims, and you tell us to take it to the court? With attorneys like that and judges appointed by the president, how in the hell can you win?

Right after the senate hearing, a press conference was held... Noticeably, none of the "regular" shock troopers for this issue, mainly Razon, Ermita, and Bunye, are missing.. Rather, some other people presented their case to the media, headed by Leandro Mendoza... Chiz Escudero said it best; "right after the press conference in La Salle, there seemingly was a singing contest among palace loyalists on who could sing the best way"... Apparently, Mendoza and co. were late entries...

What happened to the others? Well, here's my opinion:

Razon: As my uncle said, he is a good man being forced to lie... He is PNP chief after all, and he can't just turn his back on the president who has been so good to him... So he decides to act as a private army for the leprechaun...

Neri: He's gay, for all of you to know(information not to attack his person, but rather is connected. Please read on)... Sen. Jamby Madrigal asked my uncle yesterday if his "close" relationship with Sec Neri is the same with the sec's relationship with mr this and that (Sen Madrigal gave out 2 male names) to which my uncle smiled and answered: "No, not that intimate.. Ours is purely professional"... Of all the claims that my uncle said, this is the only one that Neri agreed on... But, let me tell you a story based on heresay, I say heresay because I don't have personal knowledge of it, but I have a credible source in my parents, who in turn were the people whom my uncle told this story to: once, during the height of Neri's supposed "whistleblowing", people were asking who my uncle was, with some speculating he may be his boyfriend... With this, Neri said: "Jun, tutal, iniisip na rin naman nila na mag-boyfriend tayo, gusto mo totohanin na lang natin?"... If it was a joke, it was a bad one... Now, I don't have anything against gay people, but this particular dude is sick... He knows that my uncle's saying all he knows, and even if my uncle is trying to protect Sec Neri by not saying what he knows about him, Neri still chooses to dispel my uncle's claims... Why? He's already set... Bayad na un... He can now support his fafas, and he doesn't want to change that, so he sings with the rest of palace loyalists...

NAIA Security Cheif Atutubo: He will be relieved of his post sooner or later... Jinggoy now has CCTV pictures showing Atutubo was with the party escorting my uncle out of the airport, contrary to what he is maintaining that a certain Roger Valeroso took him. Now, the burden of producing a Roger Valeroso falls on Cheif Atutubo, even as Gen Razon is claiming that no Roger Valeroso is working for the PNP. I will be amazed at how this story is going to be sewed up...

We were laughing our hearts out on Mike's claims in DZBB... He's so used to lying that he's been called  back to service to do what he does best... Iba ka talaga "tol"...

Mike Arroyo: He's back in the country, but nobody noticed... NAIA is now getting used to making people disappear upon arrival... Marcos had Imelda to tarnish his name during his time in the government... The tantrum-throwing lil' leprechaun has Mike Arroyo to be her Imelda during her somewhat so-so (not excellent, not trashy) run as the president...

Who are lying, who are telling the truth? I know for a fact that my uncle is telling the truth... From day one that we had an idea about these deals, before the TV cameras, before the media, he has been saying the same things to us... I will not rue you into believing that my uncle is telling the truth, because I know no evidence is being shown, and everyone he is implicating are all saying that he is lying... I don't think personal knowledge is enough evidence for all of you... I speak knowing whole-heartedly that my uncle is speaking the truth, mainly because of empirical knowledge, knowledge I nor he, nor anyone can instill on anybody else...

(among all my posts, this is the only one i reposted in friendster. i think this deserves to be known by more people)

***Just in.

  1. super hanga ako sa uncle mo....my mom and i were praying for him. we're sorry though, coz we know how all these have caused him and his family so much pain. i was having goosebumps while watching him speak before the Senate.... the way he narrated what happened to him, from the airport hanggang sa personal dealings, involvement and participation niya sa NBN-ZTE project, smart and reasonable people should know he's telling the truth.

  2. Thanks... Hopefully you're not alone... And hopefully, yesterday's testimony would make others witnesses come out...

ANC News was talking about this last night... They were saying this is the first time a witness has the wits to battle with the forces that be... Before, witnesses are easily shut up or made to retract their statements later... This, I assure, will not happen in this case... Its too deep to turn away from...

  3. is your uncle a THOMASIAN? (i heard that he is).. UST Engineering right?

    Funny thing:
during our class this afternoon in Levinas with Dr. Garcia, he is lamenting about the Ateneians who got involved in this national scandal.. Garcia is proudly atenian so he is greatly affected.. he said: "JDV is from ateneo, a journalism major, Neri is also from ateneo, so as Mike Arroyo, all of them are ateneians.. It's a sad thing..", he says. And we shouted, "Lozada is a THOMASIAN!" and we burst out laughing.. "At least, he comes out!" Not to say that PGMA, too, is ateneian..

The point?

    Go uste! hehe..

  9. "A: This paper is white.
B: No, this paper is brown.
A: No, this paper is white because it has no color.
    B: Eh bakit ampangit mo?"

EXACTLY. I was telling my younger brother that it has become so unnerving to watch because the arguments have become so...juvenile and petty. Nakakahiya na kung tutuusin. Parang philosopher at batang kalye in an argument, at dahil hindi na kayang tapatan ng bata ang logic ng kausap, humirit na lang ng "beh, beh, beh, beh, beh." (with matching waving hands by the ears).

  10. haha... and we have "atty." apostol to thank for those "juvenile" comments..
